Noelle Myers, Birth Assistant (she/her)

Noelle is a ferocious, queer, single mama by choice. She adores bellies and babies and books. Noelle fell in love with midwifery as a teenager in 2002, when her first child’s birth was attended by a midwife. She went on to study philosophy and writing and found herself enveloped in the elemental artistry of birth stories.

In 2007 she trained as a birth and postpartum doula and began serving families in the Portland Metro area. Along with doula services she provided support for pregnancy loss and unexpected outcomes, as well as extended postpartum guidance for families welcoming children with medical complexities. In recent years she has been studying unhindered birth and allowing for focus toward becoming an assistant midwife in out-of-hospital births, holding space for the brutal beauty of the birthing season. She spends her days fighting for human rights and moving things, like mountains, to assure that the best possible care is available and attainable to every BODY.

She is an incredible advocate for her children, and for equality in the health care and justice systems.
“And the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud, was more painful
than the risk it took to blossom.”  - Anaïs Nin
